Dr. Jerry A. Johnson served as the sixth President of Criswell College from December 5, 2003 until August 5, 2008. He was graduated from Criswell College in 1986, receiving the Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies degree. In 1997, he received a Master of Arts in Historical and Theological Studies from Conservative Baptist Seminary in Denver, Colorado , and in 2003, he received his Ph.D. in Christian Ethics from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary . In addition to his academic training, Dr. Johnson served as a trustee of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary from 1989-1998, and was Chairman of the Board of Trustees from 1996-1998. From 1998-2001, he served on the seminary staff as Assistant Director of Development. In 2001, he became an Instructor at Boyce College where he was later appointed Dean and Assistant Professor of Christian Ethics. From 1982- 2003, Dr. Johnson also served as pastor of churches in Texas and Colorado and interim pastor of churches in Kentucky and Indiana.
